By Rodney L. Sherman, Clarion News Editor

HARRISBURG - Republican candidates for the state House of Representatives 63rd District have filed their first round of campaign finance reports.

The Republican candidates apparently were under the impression the first reports had to be filed by March 3. The reports, however, are not actually due at the county election office until April 11.

Clarion County Director of Elections Ronn Kuzmovich said the candidates from both parties believed the filing date was earlier this month, but a check with Pennsylvania Department of State determined the reports aren’t due until next month.

Democratic Party candidates Gerry Borovick and Matthew Ellenberger have not yet filed their first reports yet are not required to until next month.

The early reports filed by Republicans Donna Oberlander, Maria Battista Kerle and Greg Mortimer are on file at the county voter registration.
