Clarion sets clean up day schedule


CLARION – Clarion Borough will conduct its annual clean-up day May 17. Businesses are invited to participate in the event this year.

No calls for pick up of brush will be handled needed this year. Brush can be dropped off at designated areas at the borough’s maintenance building along Veterans Drive .

Borough officials suggest all items for pick up on May 17 be placed curbside after 5 p.m. Friday, May 16.

Pick up will begin at 6 a.m. on May 17, rain or shine.

No items containing Freon will be picked up. No tires will be picked up.

Paint cans must have the lids removed and the inside of the can must be dry in order to be picked up.

No concrete or cement items will be picked up and no household garbage will be collected.

All streets and alleys will be traveled by pick up crews.

Council member Earl Zerfoss reminded residents brush and leaves are accepted at a designated area at the borough maintenance building any time.

“It’s open 365 days a year,” Zerfoss said of the brush drop-off point. “Actually, 366 days this year because it’s a Leap Year.”
