General News Local Residents save man from drowning in Millcreek

was unresponsive. “We rolled him over and started CPR, and before too long
he started to cough. So we got him up to the bridge so he could be taken to the
hospital.” While the rescue was going on John Morris of Sligo
Volunteer Fire Company drove up the hill from the bridge to find cellular
telephone service and call “The men that found him in the creek and managed to
resuscitate him are heroes and should be commended,” Jackie Cooney, Millcreek
Volunteer Fire Company Chief told the Clarion
News. The man rescued has only been identified as a 23-year old
Clarion area resident. No other details of the incident were available.
