General News Paint Township sells truck, offers land
MARIANNE - Supervisors voted April 14 to accept an offer of $40,000
from The other truck is a 1983 International 10-ton dump truck
with plow and spreader unit. Supervisors last month rejected offers of $28,000 for the
2006 Ford and $2,050 for the 1983 International. Supervisor Randy Vossburg suggested the township keep the
International and its snowplow as a back-up, but to sell the spreader, and a
water tank and pump at auction. Supervisors voted to approve the idea. The township wants to sell a small .4 acre parcel fronting
the north side of U.S. Route 322 adjacent to Battery Warehouse. The property had
been up for sale by auction in late 2006, but no offers met the $10,000 minimum
bid set by the township; the highest bid was $7,200. This time, the land will not offered at auction, but by the
township directly, Vossburg said. Supervisors also… lAppointed Gene
Dearth to fill a vacancy on the Paint-Elk Joint Sewer Authority. Dearth will
replace Terry Dunkle. lVoted to add
the second phase of the Evergreen Estates housing development to the township
street lighting district. The area to be added involves one street and eight
lots. The township will provide street lighting and will assess
homeowners in the district a street lighting tax of .02 mills to cover costs. lVoted
unanimously to donate $500 to the Clarion County Little League. lAgreed to send
a letter of support for Clarion Borough’s application for a recreation grant
from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The grant would be used for projects at
