General News Farmington sets clean up day for May 10
The event is sponsored by Items that will be accepted include: Heavy metals such as appliances, car body parts, scrap
steel, bicycles and lawn mowers with tires, oil and gasoline removed, etc. Freon must be
removed from all appliances before being brought to the center. Loose materials such as shingles and lumber, etc. Automobile, truck, commercial and other batteries. Aluminum and tin cans, plastic milk and pop containers,
glass bottles and jars, corrugated cardboard and newspaper all of which can be
placed in bins at the recycling center. Items that will not be accepted include mobile
homes, campers, propane tanks, residual unapproved waste, explosive waste,
hazardous waste, liquids, ash, yard waste and medical waste. Also, tires will not be accepted this year. Organizers ask that metal items and garbage be kept
separate. Participation in the event is limited to township residents. For more in formation, call the township office at
