Rebecca Ann Delaney Former North Clarion Elementary teacher CLARION – Rebecca Ann Delaney 60, of Shippenville, died

daughter, MarcyLou Ann Delaney of Limestone; a son, Jonathan “Jonny” Todd
Delaney at home; a sister, Norma Bailey and her husband, Roger, of Mayport; and
her mother-in-law, Ruth L. Delaney of Leeper. Also surviving are one brother-in-law, Ronald L. Delaney
and his wife, Anne, of Leeper, two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Stephen “Brenda”
Hoover of Lucinda and Mrs. Michael “Lori” Sarver of Blairsville; and a
number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by

Shinglehouse, died Born She was married on Mrs. Estes was valedictorian of the Class of 1940 at Mrs. Estes was employed as an inspector and lab technician
for Army Ordnance at the Eldred Munitions Plant near Eldred during World War II.
She retired in 1983 after 19 years as head librarian in the Oswayo Valley
Memorial Library and also was a librarian during college working at the Mrs. Estes was a member of the In addition to her husband, Mrs. Estes is survived by four
sons, Michael and his wife, Pel, of Concrete, Wash., Stuart and his wife,
Vivian, of Shippenville, Philip and his wife, Jean, of Shinglehouse, and Cory
and his wife, Judy, of Bucyrus, Ohio; seven grandchildren, five
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by

gardening, baking and cooking CLARION – Centenarian Louise A. Henry, the last living
member of her immediate family and matriarch to younger generations, passed away
Known as Aunt Louise to both her family and friends, she
was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Born Ms. Henry never married. She led a simple yet rewarding
life on the family homestead in Huey after moving there when she was two years
old. The farm was her life. It was there she worked with her family raising
crops, cattle, pigs, chickens and horses. Milking cows, gathering eggs and
making butter were all part of a day’s work. She loved her vegetable and flower gardens and enjoyed
baking and cooking. Everyone was always welcome for a hot meal and no one ever
went hungry. Ms. Henry was known for her gnocchi and ravioli, which were a
special treat at family reunions. Ms. Henry also worked at Eccles Nursery weeding Christmas
trees and in their greenhouse. At the age of 92, she gave up the farm and coal furnace and
moved to a mobile home in Rimersburg, where she lived alone and continued to
garden and plant flowers. She still baked her own bread and canned the fruits of
her labor. She attributed her long life to hard work. Ms. Henry’s hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing
and quilting. In the evenings she enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune
and reruns of Lawrence Welk. Ms. Henry was a member of St. Richard Church in Rimersburg,
where she was quite active. She was a member of the quilters group that met on
Mondays and her baked goods, homemade dish cloths, hot pads and tea towels were
always in demand for church bazaars and festivals. Ms. Henry was the sixth of eight children. She had four
sisters, Rose Birocco (Tony), JoAnn Lantelme (Levi), Margaret Aites (John) and
Lena Zanot (Victor) and three brothers, Joseph Jr., Michael and Louis
(Beatrice), all of whom preceded her in death along with three nieces, Marie
Summerville, Patricia Raybuck and Judy Slaugenhoup, and two nephews, Joseph
Birocco and Henry Lantelme. She is survived by one niece, Joann Johnson and her
husband, Todd, of Anacortes, Wash.; and two nephews, Gene Zanot and his wife,
Deb, of Reynoldsville, and Thomas Zanot and his wife, Marion, of Port Charlotte,
Fla.; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews; 16 great-great-nieces and nephews; and
one great-great-great-niece. Also surviving is an “honorary” brother, Raymond
Ginepro of Ms. Henry made “headlines” last year when she
celebrated her 100th birthday with a surprise party at the Inne and Five Pointes
