To promote safe teen driving practices and increase  community traffic safety, Keystone High School participated in the New Traffic Safety Initiative at Indiana University of Pennsylvania which had Keystone competing through activities such as seat belt efforts, a presentation by Knox Borough police officers and driving in general. The goal was to win the opportunity to receive free use of the Pennsylvania DUI Association’s DUI Simulator. The school in the county with the highest points received this opportunity and Keystone won the use of the DUI simulator on Tuesday, May 6. Daniel Sogor, safety bug coordinator, explained the different ways to simulate road conditions such as rain storms, black ice, a flat tire as well as delayed response that occurs when driving under the influence. Pictured here, 10th grader Austin Hall attempts to control the vehicle through the varied conditions.
