Redbank Valley renaissance

Clarion News photo by Jessica Bonk
Redbank
Valley
High
School
in New
Bethlehem
was granted an artist in residency by the Arts Council of
Erie
.
The artist arrived at Redbank and spent three weeks, with the aid of art teacher
Roddy Hartle’s senior high art classes, in order to complete a mural set in
the front lobby of the high school. The mural theme depicts the hallways of
Redbank
Valley
and includes an array of day-to-day representation of the students’ lives and
includes books, globes, calculators and other symbolic pictures. Shown here from
left, art teacher Roddy Hartle, students Tara Carlson and Noah Musgrave (who
painted several of the items within the mural) and artist in residence Bernie
Wilke.
