SUMMER READING PROGRAM: 11:45 a.m. (departure from Keystone Elementary)- 2:30 p.m. (return), Clarion University , Clarion. “Go buggy with entomology;” bus trip for grades 5-8. Due to limited space, only those registered for “Creepy Crawlies” program may ride the bus.

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: 5:30-7:30 p.m. , Clarion Free Library, Clarion. See “The Bee Movie.”

FAMILY FISHING PROGRAM: 5:30 p.m. , children’s fishing pond, Cook Forest . Learn fishing basics.

SENATOR ARLEN SPECTER’S ERIE STAFF OFFICE HOURS: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. , Clarion Co. Courthouse large conference room, Clarion. Call Specter’s Erie office with any questions at 453-3010 in advance of event. Hours present opportunity to address matters such as social security, Medicare benefits, etc.

BOOK BUDDIES: 11 a.m. - noon , Clarion Free Library, Clarion. Big buddies (age 10-18) read to little reading buddies.

KNOX FARMER’S MARKET: 4-7 p.m., Knox Community Park , Knox. The Clarion Canine Obedience Club holds demonstrations at 5 p.m. ; bring the kids for a fun evening with the dogs. Vendors will have vegetables, baked goods, eggs, beef, jewelry, berries, candy, quilted items, sandwiches, baskets, yarn, flowers, jams, honey, potter and more.

FISHING THE CLARION RIVER: 10 a.m., meet at park office, Cook Forest . A 3-mile guided fishing and canoeing program; bring fishing poles, bait, lunch and proper river footwear. Pre-registering required, 744-8307.

CLARION FARMERS MARKET: 8:30 - noon , Courthouse parking lot, Clarion. Local farmers will have broccoli, peas, cabbage, zucchini, cucumbers, cauliflower, beets, onions, green beans, spinach, lettuce, rhubarb, flower, vegetable and herb plants and hanging baskets, fresh-cut flowers, ice cream, pies, cookies, bread, noodles, raw honey, jams, cheese, eggs, chicken, beef, pork, all natural skin and pet care products.
