General News Effort to expand Paint Township water service advances
MARIANNE - The effort to bring public water to southern The Paint Township Water Authority met recently and
reviewed the latest plans from its engineers, making revisions to adding more
places to connect to the system. The plans will be sent back to the Maguire Group

drawings and develop bid specifications. When this is done, bid advertisements can be issued,
authority president Gene Bushyeager said. Valves and caps added to the plans will allow for
connections serving about 1,000 acres of land, Bushyeager said. The authority has been approved for a $1.24 million loan
and a $151,310 grant from PENNVEST, a state agency providing funding for
infrastructure work. The authority will pay 1 percent interest over the 30-year
life of the loan. Authority officials plan to meet with Department of
Environmental Protection officials to discuss the possibility of grants funding.
