Surprise return

Army Capt. Nicole Kerle, who was stationed in Iraq from Oct. 2, 2007 to Dec. 23, 2008, surprised her little sister, Jennifer, fourth grade, and brother, Tanner, second grade, Jan. 9 at Immaculate Conception school in Clarion. Jennifer and Tanner did not know their sister was home. Kerle presented her siblings with flags that had been flown over the Al Flaw Palace in Baghdad . The palace used to be occupied by Sadam Hussein’s forces. Kerle is a member of the Army’s 44^th Expeditionary Signal Battalion.
