Captive Free performs

LEEPER – Captive Free, a relational music ministry team sponsored by Youth Encounter will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Leeper. All ages, especially youth   are invited to attend. A free will offering will be taken. Local youth groups planning to attend are asked to call the youth group at 744-8580.

Palmetto State Quartet performs

RIMERSBURG – The congregation of the Baker Street Church of God invites all to join them for a concert filled with excitement and traditional southern gospel quartet music when Palmetto State Quartet of Nashville, Tenn. performs at 7 p.m. , May 9, at their church in Rimersburg. A free will offering will be taken.

Alpha Assembly of God

CLARION – Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and regular services begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Alpha Assembly of God church. Rev. Ronald Swanson is the pastor.

Bethany-Crossroads ECC

NICKLEVILLE – Worship services will be held at the 9:30 a.m. May 11, at Bethany Crossroads ECC. The Rev. Chris Lewis is pastor. Sunday school meets at 10:45 a.m.

Bethel Baptist Church

SLIGO – Sunday school classes for all ages meet at 10 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church of Sligo. The regular service begins at 11 a.m. Junior church is held for children during the 11 a.m. service.

A Sweet Hearts couple’s marriage class meets at 10 a.m. Sunday. Sunday evening service is held at 6 p.m. Soul winning and visitations are at 1 p.m. on Friday and at noon on Saturdays. Bible study and prayer meeting are held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Nurseries are provided.

Christian Missionary Alliance

EAST BRADY – Rev. Peter Sears delivers the message at the 10:45 a.m. worship service at the East Brady Christian Missionary Alliance Church .

Clarion C&MA Church

CLARION – Pastor Keith Allen will deliver a message with a Mother’s Day theme that will relate to all for the 11 a.m. Sunday, May 11, worship service at the Clarion Christian and Missionary Alliance Church .  

Clarion Church of the Nazarene

CLARION – Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. and worship services are at 11 a.m. at the Clarion Church of the Nazarene.

The Sunday evening worship service is at 6 p.m. contemporary worship for teens and adults.

Clarion First Baptist

CLARION – Pastor Keith Richardson delivers the message at the 9 a.m. May 11, worship service at the First Baptist Church . Jeff and Wanda Barlett are the greeters.

All ages Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m.

The EDGE youth group meets from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Celebrate Recovery, a fellowship and accountability group, meets at 7 p.m. every Tuesday in the church library.

Clarion First UMC

CLARION – The message for Pentecost and Mother’s Day will be delivered at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. service Sunday, May 11, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarion.

Paige Wolf and Alexis Fiscus are the acolytes and Joe and Mary Wolfe and Paige and Kelsey are the greeters. Sarah Matson provides special music for the 8:30 a.m. service.

Children’s Sunday school includes children’s choir from 9:30 to 10 a.m. , Sunday school for all ages from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. and children’s time during 11 a.m. worship services.

The youth meets at 6:30 p.m. Sundays in the downstairs youth room. Special upcoming events include: May 10, Quaker Steak and Lube.

Clarion Free Methodist

CLARION – The Clarion Free Methodist Church will observe morning worship of word and table at 11 a.m. , May 11. Pastors Rev. Linda Schwab and Margaret Flowers lead the service. The sermon is titled “Wind and Fire.” Darlene McCleary will be the lay reader.

Sunday Morning Prayer and Meditation service will be held from 10:20 to 10:40 a.m. followed by conversation and coffee from 10:40 to 11 a.m. , all are welcome.

A bi-weekly prayer service (Rite 1) will be held at 5:15 p.m. , May 14.

The bi-weekly gathering for “Apocalypse and Coffee” is at 12:30 p.m. May 14, at Michelle’s Café, Clarion.

Faith Church of the Nazarene

KOSSUTH – Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. Worship begins at 10:45 a.m. ; Rev. Richard Koning delivers the message.

Judy Stabler will present the study at 6 p.m. Sunday,

At 6 p.m. Wednesday Joan Weible will teach the lesson “Experiencing God.” The youth will also meet. Choir practice is at 7 p.m. A ladies tea will be held at 6:30 p.m. May 15, for the ladies of the church.

Faith Lutheran Church

VENUS – Worship services are at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church . Harvey Pinkerton will be assisting minister at the 8 a.m. service and Josh Kerle is the acolyte. Don Kapp will assist at the 10:30 a.m. service and Tanner Guth is the acolyte.

Sunday school begins at 9:15 a.m.

Fellowship Baptist Church

EMLENTON – Fellowship Baptist Church holds worship services at 11 a.m. Sunday and Sunday school is at 10 a.m.

Sunday evening services are at 6:30 p.m.

A prayer meeting, “Teens for Christ” and “Master Clubs” are held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Fern Trinity EC

FERN – The message will be delivered at 9:30 a.m. for the Sunday, May 11 worship service. Garry, Bonnie and Mary Jeannerat are the greeters and Dale Kaber is the worship leader.

Children’s and adult Sunday school begins at 10:45 a.m.

A staffed nursery is available during church and Sunday school.

First Presbyterian

CLARION – Sunday worship begins at 10 a.m. Interim Pastor Dr. Kate Irish-Filer will deliver the message for Sunday. Nursery care will be provided during worship and Sunday school for preschool to grade 12 is at 10 a.m. This is “Sharing Cupboard Sunday,” “Mothers in Faith Sunday” and celebration of Pentecost.

Jon Stants, Eric Fox, Keaton Stants, Butch Campbell and Bill Champion will be the greeters, Jeff Waple is the lay reader, Alison Williams and Emma Giering are acolytes. Brian Dunn and the adult choir provide the music.

Fundamental Baptist Church

ST. PETERSBURG – Rev. Olin N. Race will deliver the message “The Blessing of a Godly Mother” at the 11 a.m. May 11, service at the Fundamental Baptist Church . Sandra Blauser is the pianist.

All ages Sunday school begins at 10 a.m.

Sunday evening services are at 6 p.m. The sermon is “A Mother of Great Honor.”

Bible study and prayer meeting is at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Good Shepherd UMC

LEEPER – The worship service is at 10 a.m. , May 11, at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Leeper.

Sunday school begins at 9 a.m.

Chris Cohlhepp will provide instrumental accompaniment.

Grace ECC

NINEVAH – Worship services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. May 11, at the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church in Ninevah. Russ Ace provides special music. Sunday school meets at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages.

There will be no evening services.

The annual youth retreat will be held May 16-18 at All Saints Ukrainian Campground, Emlenton. Register at www.knox-graceec.org; cost is $40.

Immaculate Conception

CLARION – Pentecost will be celebrated Sunday at Immaculate Conception Church. Marking the 50th day after Easter, the church commemorates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and the Spirit’s abiding presence in the church. Parishioners are to wear red clothing to mass this weekend. The vigil mass will be at 5:30 p.m. May 10, at Immaculate Conception Church. Sunday morning masses are at 7:30 , 9 and 11:15 a.m. The 9 a.m. mass will be broadcast on WWCH Radio.

Kingsville UMC

KINGSVILLE – Rev. William Saxman delivers the morning message at the 9 a.m. May 11 worship service at the Kingsville UMC. Linda Coulson provides music. Sunday school is at 10:25 a.m.

Canned fruit is the food pantry item for May.

Choir practice is at 6:30 p.m. May 13.

KNOX – The Knox United Methodist Church will hold worship services at 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Poole will deliver the message.

Living Church International

SUMMERVILLE – Pastor Karen Shay leads worship at the 10:45 a.m. services at the Living Church International. Sunday school is held at 9:30 a.m.

MCM Cooperative UMC

SHIPPENVILLE – MCM Cooperative is a cooperative of three churches - Manor, Curllsville and Monroe Chapel United Methodist Churches , with pastors Dr. Rev. Jerry and Rev. Clara Belloit. Nevin Memorial UCC

FROGTOWN – Pastor Sam Swick will deliver the sermon at the 11 a.m. , May 11, service at the Nevin Memorial United Church of Christ in Frogtown. The congregation will observe Pentecost and Mother’s Day.

Billie Reinsel will be the organist and pianist and Wayne Ferringer is the usher and greeter. Michaela Gilliland is the acolyte.

New Athens Church of God of Prophecy

New Covenant UMC

PARKER – The New Covenant United Methodist Charge consists of four churches with two pastors.

Sunday evening services for all four churches will be held at 7 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month.

Salem Lutheran

LAMARTINE – Rev. Karen D. Parsh will deliver the message at the 9 a.m. Sunday morning worship services. Wendy Perez will be the lector and Kelly Mapes and Tamara Rader will be acolytes. Sunday school begins at 10:15 a.m.

SIGEL – The Sigel United Methodist Charge is a cooperative of four churches. Pastor Gary Sheesley invites the public to attend.

Clarington United Methodist Church holds its Sunday Worship Services at 8:30 a.m.

Sigel United Methodist Church holds Sunday worship services at 11 a.m. Sunday school is at 10 a.m.

Fisher United Methodist Church is not holding services at the present time.

Zion United Methodist Church holds Sunday worship at 9:45 a.m. Sunday school is at 8:45 a.m.

Sligo Church of the Nazarene

SLIGO – Pastor John Panneton will deliver the message at the 10 a.m. , Sunday service at the Sligo Church of the Nazarene. Sunday school is at 9 a.m.

An evening Bible study hour is held from 6 to 7 p.m. , Sunday evenings.

Sligo Presbyterian

SLIGO – Sligo Presbyterian Church’s worship service is at 10 a.m. and all ages Sunday school is at 9 a.m. Pastor Stephanie Weaver delivers the message.

Worship service includes traditional hymns as well as praise songs. Children are always welcome in the service, but for those who wish to take advantage of it, children’s church is offered during the worship hour for pre-school through age 8, a cry room is also available.

SLIGO – Pastor Richard Russell will deliver the message at the 9:45 a.m. May 11, worship service at Sligo United Methodist Church .

St. Mark Memorial Chapel

MONROE – Worship services and junior church are at 10 a.m. May 11, at St. Mark UCC. Pastor Nancy Flick Dunmire will deliver the message. The church will celebrate Pentecost. St. Paul Lutheran

WENTLINGS CORNERS – St. Paul Lutheran Church located on Twin Church Road outside of Knox holds its worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Rev. Karen D. Parsh will deliver the message.

St. Paul UCC

St. John Lutheran

EMLENTON – Worship begins at 8:45 a.m. May 11 with Pastor Deborah Jacobson leading the worship service.

STRATTANVILLE – The Strattanville United Methodist Charge is a cooperative of three churches; Asbury, Corsica and Strattanville. Rev. Julie Applegate will deliver the message.

Corsica United Methodist Church holds services at 8:45 a.m. Sunday school will be at 10 a.m.

Bible study is at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Strattanville.  

Asbury United Methodist Church worship service will be at 9:50 a.m. Sunday school will be at 8:45 a.m.

Strattanville United Methodist Church worship service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

Summerville UMC

SUMMERVILLE – Guest speaker, Rev. William Saxman will deliver the message at the 11 a.m. , May 11, worship service at Summerville UMC. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

A Bible study will be held at 1 p.m. May 14.

Tylersburg UMC Charge

TYLERSBURG – The Tylersburg United Methodist Charge is a cooperative of three churches – Tylersburg, Helen Furnace and Scotch Hill - under the pastorate of Pastor J. Mark Hurst. Worship services are: 8:30 a.m. at Tylersburg UMC; 9:45 a.m. at Helen Furnace UMC; and 10:45 a.m. at Scotch Hill UMC with Sunday school beginning at 10 a.m.

United Evangelical

VENUS – The United Evangelical Church will hold worship services at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 11. Evan Asche is the acolyte and Steve and Denise Johnson and Scott and Amy Zacherl will be the greeters.

Victory Praise and Worship Center

ROSEVILLE – The Victory Praise and Worship Center Praise Team will have services at 10:30 a.m. , Sunday. Calvin Davie is the pastor. 

Children’s church is held from 11 to 11:45 a.m. every Sunday.

Corporate prayer will be at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, and Sunday school is held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday evening services are held at 6 p.m.

A ladies Bible study is held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesdays and Bible study is at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

At 8 a.m. Saturdays, a prayer breakfast is held, everyone is welcome.

Zion Baptist Church

CLARION – All are invited attend the 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 11, worship services at the Zion Baptist Church .

Children’s ministry is provided for both services.

Sunday nights the “garage” is open from 6-8 p.m. for grades 7 through 12.
