Old Home day

VOWINCKEL – The Greenwood United Methodist Church will hold their annual “Old Home Day” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. , Aug. 16, at the church. Music by “Recycled Teenagers Kitchen Band” and hymn sing begins at 1 p.m. A covered dish dinner in the fellowship hall will follow the music.

The church is located on Greenwood Road , 1.7 miles off Forest Road between Cook Forest and Vowinckel.

Concert at Zion

REIDSBURG - National recording artist Fireflight will perform at 6 p.m. , Sept. 21, at Zion Baptist Church . Nevertheless and Me in Motion will also be performing. Tickets for the concert are $10 and may be purchased at the church or at The Olive Branch.

The concert is presented by Zion ’s youth ministry, The Garage. The church is located 3 miles south of WalMart of State Route 68, Zion Road . Call 745-2814 for information.

Alpha Assembly of God

CLARION – Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and regular services begin at 10:30 a.m.

Bethany-Crossroads ECC

NICKLEVILLE – Rev. Chris Lewis will deliver the message at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. Sunday school meets at 10:45 a.m.

Bethel Baptist Church

SLIGO – Sunday school classes for all ages meet at 10 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church of Sligo. The regular service begins at 11 a.m. junior church is held for children during the 11 a.m. service.

Sunday evening service is held at 6 p.m.

Christian Missionary Alliance

EAST BRADY – Rev. Peter Sears delivers the message at the 10:45 a.m. worship service at the East Brady Christian Missionary Alliance Church .

Clarion C&MA Church

Clarion Church of the Nazarene

CLARION – Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. and worship services are at 11 a.m.

Clarion First Baptist

CLARION – Rev. Keith Richardson continues his sermon series entitled “Lessons from the Life of David” at the 9 a.m. Aug. 17, worship service at the First Baptist Church . All ages Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m.

The EDGE youth group meets at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Celebrate Recovery, a fellowship and accountability group, meets at 7 p.m. every Tuesday in the church library.

Clarion First UMC

CLARION – Services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarion. Rev. Dr. Deryl Larsen will deliver the message.

Children’s Sunday school is held from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

An evening worship is held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Clarion Free Methodist

CLARION – The Clarion Free Methodist Church will hold worship with Holy Communion at 11 a.m. , Aug. 17, led by Pastors Margaret Flowers, Linda Schwab, and Phyllis Opare. The summer series “Old School: Returning to the Wesley’s Radical Vision” continues with a message examining the means of grace in light.

The “Birdsong service” of prayer and meditation with excerpts by Douglas Steere is held from 10:20 to 10:40 a.m. ; coffee time follows at 10:40 to 11 a.m.

The new bible discussion series, “Wisdom and the Way, the Book of Proverbs in the Life of Jesus” will begin Friday, Aug. 22 at 12:30 p.m. at Michelle’s Café.

Evening prayer resumes Thursday Aug. 21 at 5:15 p.m. and will celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration.

Faith Church of the Nazarene

KOSSUTH – 4tified, a gospel quartet, along with a five piece band will perform in concert at Kossuth Faith Church of the Nazarene, Saturday Aug. 30 at 6 p.m.

Following the evening concert, the Faith congregation will host an ice cream social in the church fellowship hall.

The church is located one mile east of the intersection of State Route 338 and State Route 322 or four miles west of Shippenville on State Route 322.

At 10:30 a.m. Rev. Richard Koning brings the message. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

Joan Weible and crew have junior church also at 6 a.m. with Judy Stabler presenting the message, and the Youth group will meet together with Dave Weible quizzing the group.

Bible studies are held Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. with Joan Weible leading.

Faith Lutheran Church

VENUS – Worship services are at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church .

Don Kapp will be the assisting minister for both services.

Sunday school will resume Sept. 7.

Fellowship Baptist Church

EMLENTON – Fellowship Baptist Church holds worship services at 11 a.m. and will welcome Missionary Paul Scott as the guest speaker.

Sunday and Sunday school is at 10 a.m.

Sunday evening services are at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday prayer meeting and Teens for Christ meet at 6:30 p.m.

The church will be holding a men’s prayer breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16 at the church. Tim Sloan will give the message.

Fern Trinity EC

FERN – The message will be delivered at 9:30 a.m. for the Sunday, Aug. 17, worship service.

Dave and Ginny Ritner will be the greeters for this service.

Sunday school begins at 10:45 a.m.

First Baptist Church

First Presbyterian

CLARION – Worship is at 10 a.m. and the new pastor, Rev. Scott Hauser will deliver the message. Music will be provided by organist Brian Dunn and the adult choir.

Greeters for the service are Tony and Brenda Mazzocchi, Butch Campbell, Bill Showers, and Joe and Anita Michael. Jeff Waple will serve as lay leader.

A radio broadcast of summer Sunday celebration is being hosted by the Louder’s.

A family celebration picnic is also being held at 2 p.m. located at the Fox family farm.

First United Methodist Church

Grace ECC

Immaculate Conception

CLARION – The anticipated mass for Sunday will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. Sunday morning masses are at 7:30 , 9 and 11:15 a.m. The 9 a.m. mass will be broadcast on WWCH Radio.

The annual parish picnic is Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Clarion County Park from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

MCM Cooperative UMC

Manor United Methodist

Mayport Lutheran Parish

The Mayport Lutheran Parish is holding an annual community/parish picnic Sunday, Aug. 17 at Zion Lutheran, Shannondale.

At 10 a.m. an outdoor worship and dedication of new poverty will be held.

A covered dish dinner will be held at 11:30 a.m. and at 12:30 p.m. games and fellowship for all ages with activities including bingo, water balloons, and barrel train. Everyone is welcome.

Curllsville United Methodist

Curllsville United Methodist Church is located South of I-80, Exit 62 State Route 68, on Curllsville Road , off State Route 68 and Huckleberry Ridge. Worship time: 10 a.m. Sunday school is at 11 a.m. The church is partially handicapped accessible.

Monroe Chapel UMC

Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church is located on State Route 68, South of I-80, Exit 62, State Route 68, Sligo RD. The church is fully handicap accessible. Sunday school: 10 a.m. Worship time: 11 a.m.

Mt. Joy Methodist Church

KNOX – Worship service is at 11 a.m. at Mt. Joy Methodist Church . Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Nevin Memorial UCC

FROGTOWN – Pastor Samuel Swick will deliver the message at the 11 a.m. , Aug. 17, service at the Nevin Memorial United Church of Christ in Frogtown.

Billie Reinsel will be the organist and pianist with Beaver and Sue Switzer as greeters and Michaela Gilliland serving as acolyte.

New Athens Church of God of Prophecy

New Covenant UMC

PARKER – The New Covenant United Methodist Charge consists of four churches with two pastors.

Sunday evening services for all four churches will be held at 7 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month.

CLARION TWP. – New Rehoboth-Greenville Presbyterian Church will hold worship services at 9 a.m. Sunday.

New Zion EC

EMLENTON – At 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship services begin at the New Zion Evangelical Church .

Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. with classes for preschool children through adults.

Nickleville Presbyterian

NICKLEVILLE – Brad Maurhoff will be the guest speaker delivering the message at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, worship service.

SHIPPENVILLE – Rev. Dick Eddinger will have worship services at 10 a.m. until Oct. 15, at the Rustic Acres Campground church.

Salem Lutheran

LAMARTINE – Sunday morning worship services are at 9 a.m. with Justin Mays as the lector. This service will be a lawn chair service conducted outside.

Tamara Rader and Kelly Mapes will serve as acolytes.

Sunday school begins at 10:15 a.m.

Salem Reformed UCC

LAMARTINE – Church services begin at 10:30 a.m. , Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Salem Reformed UCC Church.

Shippenville United Methodist Church is part of the Shippenville-Providence United Methodist Charge with the Providence UMC in Knox.

Sigel UMC

SIGEL – The Sigel United Methodist Charge is a cooperative of four churches. Pastor Gary Sheesley invites the public to attend.

Clarington United Methodist Church holds its Sunday Worship Services at 8:30 a.m.

Sigel United Methodist Church holds Sunday worship services at 11 a.m. Sunday school is at 10 a.m.

Fisher United Methodist Church is not holding services at the present time.

Zion United Methodist Church holds Sunday worship at 9:45 a.m. Sunday school is at 8:45 a.m.

Sligo Church of the Nazarene

SLIGO – Pastor John Panneton will deliver the message at the 10 a.m. , Sunday service at the Sligo Church of the Nazarene. Sunday school is at 9 a.m.

An evening Bible study hour is held from 6 to 7 p.m. , Sunday evenings.

Sligo Presbyterian

SLIGO – Sligo Presbyterian Church’s worship service is at 10 a.m. and all ages Sunday school is at 9 a.m. Pastor Stephanie Weaver delivers the message.

Worship service includes traditional hymns as well as praise songs. Children are always welcome in the service. Casual dress is welcome.

St. Mark Memorial Chapel

KOSSUTH – Pastor Pamela Mansfield speaks at the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Susan Ogden will be the organist. The church is non-denominational.

St. Mark UCC

MONROE – Worship services and junior church are at 10 a.m. Aug. 17, at St. Mark UCC. Pastor Nancy Flick Dunmire delivers the message.

The chancel choir, under the direction of Julie Shoup will present special music, Shirley Ziegler is the church organist.

St. Paul Lutheran

WENTLINGS CORNERS – St. Paul Lutheran Church located on Twin Church Road outside of Knox will hold worship services at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

Kim Raybuck will be lay leader and Clark Wise as the assistant.

Virginia Hook will read the lessons. Inside greeter will be Bud and Florence Thompson and the Wise family will greet outside.

A meet and greet with refreshments will follow the service.

Sunday school starts at 9:30 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion will be held at the Mineral Springs Park in Emlenton at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Deborah Jacobson presiding. Picnic will follow.

St. Peter Lutheran

     ST. PETERSBURG – Worship with Holy Communion will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 17. Pastor Deborah Jacobson will preside at the service.  

Strattanville UMC

STRATTANVILLE – The Strattanville United Methodist Charge is a cooperative of three churches; Asbury, Corsica and Strattanville. Rev. Julie Applegate will deliver the message.

Corsica United Methodist Church holds services at 8:45 a.m. Sunday school will be at 10 a.m.

Bible study is at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Strattanville.  

Asbury United Methodist Church worship service will be at 9:50 a.m. Sunday school will be at 8:45 a.m.

Strattanville United Methodist Church worship service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

Summerville UMC

Tylersburg UMC Charge

TYLERSBURG – The Tylersburg United Methodist Charge is a cooperative of three churches – Tylersburg, Helen Furnace and Scotch Hill - under the pastorate of Pastor J. Mark Hurst. Worship services are: 8:30 a.m. at Tylersburg UMC; 9:45 a.m. at Helen Furnace UMC; and 10:45 a.m. at Scotch Hill UMC with Sunday school beginning at 10 a.m.

United Evangelical

VENUS –The United Evangelical Church will hold worship services at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17 with guest speaker Rev. Pete Knight from Oil City delivering the message. Music will be provided by The Ladies Trio.

Tanya Rennard will be the greeter for the service and Rachel Malvey will serve as acolyte.

Victory Praise and Worship Center

ROSEVILLE – The Victory Praise and Worship Center Praise Team will have services at 10:30 a.m. , Sunday. Calvin Davie is the pastor. 

Children’s church is held from 11 to 11:45 a.m. every Sunday.

Sunday school is held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday evening services are held at 6 p.m.

Bible study is at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

At 8 a.m. Saturdays, a prayer breakfast is held, everyone is welcome.

Wolf’s Camping Resort

KNOX – Worship services are held at 6 p.m. Saturday evenings in the main pavilion. The Joy Belles will deliver the message for Aug. 16.

Zion Baptist Church
