Vote with your eyes open

In response to the letter titled “Dangerous McCain” (Clarion News letters, March 20), I must ask why the author seems to love the U.N., Russia and China so much?

As I read that letter I was sickened by what appears to be a blatant disdain for the sovereignty of the United States .

The United States ’ government was formed on the premise that all human beings have inalienable rights, not given to them by governments, but by God.

Americans have, since the beginning of our great nation, fought to allow said freedoms to be enjoyed by all in our country and lands abroad.

How dare anyone defend governments who are the biggest human rights violators in the world, such as China , North Korea , and many of the other countries named in the aforementioned letter.

America has liberated many peoples across the globe in order to give them to opportunity to decide how they are governed.

There are people who have been under the oppression of cruel governments so long that they do not know how to live free, so we need to stick around and teach them how to stand up for themselves, to no longer be slaves of regimes like that of Hitler, Hussein, Stalin, etc.

The United Nations has never recognized American authority.

The U.N. is a weak-kneed organization and wouldn't know the value of freedom if it tap-danced across its nose. I agree with any policy that would give the boot to the U.N. because I believe in the sovereignty of our great country and am sickened when I read communistic dialog such as was printed last Thursday.

By the way, communist governments are not about the community as their name may imply, they are however about government.

So when you go to vote next month, you better survey the candidates views about the role of government and the sovereignty of the U.S.A. as opposed to the U.N. then decide which of the candidates lean towards a free sovereign U.S. or a government controlled population. If you want to continue to live free, you better vote with your eyes wide open.
