Opinions Game commission needs to evaluate WCO
I have known for several years – I’m 42 years old –
that the Pennsylvania Game Commission protects deer and other species, but I
didn’t realize it also protects jackasses. It is one thing to entice hunters to buy a hunting license
and then harass them in the field, but to do it to non-hunting citizens is
another. I have sat quietly and listened to other people’s accounts of
dealings with Wildlife Conservation Officer Rodney Bimber. After the first two or three incidents, I assumed they were
“he said, she said” situations. Many times law enforcement officials get
false reports told about them because someone got fined and was upset about it. However, after 12 to 18 different incidents, a supervisor
must be thinking, “OK, what’s going on here?” I offer this to the game commission: Check WCO Bimber’s
record from whatever county he came from. Were these types of reports happening
there? If not, transfer him to another part of the state. Shame on the game
commission for letting a good man – as the record states – get tormented
here by the citizens If not for WCO Bimber, do it for the game commission. The
game commission is backpedaling now with a huge drop in hunting license sales. Unfortunately, many others and I are paying higher prices
for a license due to the lack of sales. Just to clarify. I have never been fined for a violation. I
have been stopped five or six times to be checked. All were nice encounters with
very reputable WCOs, or deputy WCOs. There is a strong need for the state game commission, but
lately we are just getting a strong odor.
