Opinions Local men are heroes
I am writing to commend and congratulate the five young men
who saved a 23-year-old man from drowning on April 16. Two of the young men are my neighbors, Justin McGinnis, 21,
and Tyler Skinner, 17. I have watched them grow up. They used to mow my lawn; they still ride tractors mowing
the fields and hauling hay to the cattle. On their way fishing, they happened to come across a young
man lying unconscious on the bank of Mill Creek with his head in the water.
Their quick thinking and actions saved his life. They pulled him out of the water, give him CPR and revived
him. He is reportedly doing all right now. Justin’s dad, Rodney McGinnis, told me that they almost
decided not to go fishing. It would seem that the saving of this 23-year-old man
was providential. These five young men, Justin McGinnis, Tyler Skinner, Tony
or Cade Kennemuth, Brady Martz and Tyson Shreckengost are ordinary people who
did an extraordinary feat when the opportunity presented itself. These young men are to be recognized, commended and
congratulated for what they did. They saved a life. They are heroes. Thanks guys!
